How do I add an external domain name?

If you do not have a domain name registered with us but want to manage with us, add the domain name as an external domain. The domain name is then added to our nameservers, so you can easily manage their DNS records through My Account.

Important

After adding the domain name as an external domain, it is important that you customize the nameservers with your current provider. Only after that you can manage our DNS records. It takes up to 24 hours for a name server change worldwide.

Steps

Step 1. Log in to My Account.

Step 2. In the left menu, click 'Domains & Webhosting'.

Step 3. Under 'Domains', click the 'Add external domain' tab. You will see the following fields:

  • Domain name. Enter the domain name without the extension, for example, 'domain'.
  • Extension. Select the extension that belongs to your domain name.
  • Hosting IP Address. The IP address you enter here will be placed in all standard A records.
  • Anonymous nameservers. When you check this box, the domain name will be added to our anonymous nameservers.

Step 4. Click 'Add Domain'. The domain name is now added as an external domain.
